6″ Gyratory Discs

The gyratory disc can’t be made out of any paper. It needs to be dense enough so that it doesn’t break apart on your puck and stick resistant so that it peels right off.

We went through over 40 different types of paper to build the perfect disc. Our papers have a high GSM value which makes them less susceptible to breaking down during compaction.

Under the heat of the asphalt and the force of compaction, lower GSM paper breaks apart. Those pieces adhere to the puck and have to be manually removed bit by bit.

Our papers were tested side by side with the other different paper types and stayed together during every test, and left no residue behind.

Specialized Coating

The coating on our gyratory papers ensure that the paper can be peeled off easily after compaction and doesn’t allow ink and residue on the paper to seep into the puck.

When picking out papers for your gyratory you have to think about what the paper is made out of. Asphalt is hot, and if you’re trying to use the wrong paper, you will end up with a paper that fuses with your puck instead of peeling off.
