Thermo Scientific NCAT asphalt content furnace for ASTM D6307 and AASHTO T 308 ignition-method binder content testing.
NCAT Furnace is a Thermo Scientific/Thermolyne asphalt content furnace for determining asphalt binder content in paving mixtures by the ignition method.
The furnace uses an internal electronic balance to monitor sample weight during burn-off, then calculates asphalt content from mass loss. It supports ASTM D6307 and AASHTO T 308 workflows, automatic or manual endpoint detection, result printing, and RS-232 data output.
Typical samples are 1,200-1,800 g, with extended testing for specimens up to 5,000 g. The furnace has a 392-1,202 F (200-650 C) temperature range, a 538 C default chamber setpoint, an automatic door lock, and a high-temperature afterburner with ceramic filter for emissions control.
