The Gilson Silent Sifter, 115V (SS-21) is a rotary laboratory sifter for particle size analysis where reduced operating noise and enclosed dust control are important.
The SS-21 accepts 8 in, 12 in, 200 mm, and 300 mm test sieves. Capacity is up to ten 8 in/200 mm full-height sieves, twenty 8 in/200 mm half-height sieves, six 12 in/300 mm full-height sieves, thirteen 12 in/300 mm half-height sieves, or ten 12 in intermediate-height sieves, including pan configurations.
Gilson lists the SS-21 Silent Sifter as 7-10 dB quieter than traditional rotary sifters. The enclosed cabinet uses sound-deadening materials, a safety interlock, rubber-covered stainless steel drive rollers, mechanical tapping hammers, and a digital countdown timer up to 99 minutes, 59 seconds.
